Cristine Carpenter, Co-founder and President

A minority woman and a U.S. Navy veteran, Ms. Carpenter understands and cares deeply about the importance of empowering people to achieve their highest potential. This is a philosophy that forms the foundation how Vantage Point hires, trains, and manages its employees as well as the nature of the products and services that Vantage Point offers. Ms. Carpenter served in both Active Duty and the Reserves with the Navy in Human Resource Personnel Resource Command (HRPRC) for over 10 years with tours in Italy, London, and Washington, DC. She was also a mobilized reservist in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2004.

Jeffrey Carpenter, Co-founder and Vice President

Mr. Carpenter has over 12 years of experience in driving transformational change in higher education and human capital development as a management consultant with PricewaterhouseCooopers and IBM Business Consulting Services. Mr. Carpenter is a certified project management professional with the Project Management Institute and has a joint master's degree in Public Policy and Business Administration from Georgetown University. He combines professional training, years of experience leading complex projects, and a personal passion for helping individuals and organizations set and reach ambitious and transformational goals.

Philip Platt, Managing Partner

Mr. Platt is a seasoned professional with over 13 years of higher education and management consulting experience at Monitor Group, Computer Sciences Corporation, Colgate University, PricewaterhouseCoopers, and IBM Business Consulting Services.  His analytical, facilitation, and project-leadership skills have provided exceptional value for clients on numerous projects, including strategic visioning, redesigns of student-service processes, management of key components of the U.S. Defense Department’s GoArmyEd program, readiness assessments for e-learning initiatives, and definition of user needs for new student-information systems. In addition, he is a polished presenter and has spoken at several national conferences.  Mr. Platt is a member of Phi Beta Kappa and holds a master’s degree in higher-education administration from Harvard University.

Brenda George, Chief Operating Officer

After over 15 years in airline management, training facilitation, and writing of training manuals, Brenda George saw the wave of the future and turned her interests to online marketing. She joined an e-tailer that successfully went public and there acquired an in-depth knowledge of Internet marketing methods. After many years of Internet marketing and training, she joined Vantage Point where she is currently developing student-success programs and working with higher-education mentors to improve retention rates.

Nancy Hendrickson, Chief Communications Officer

Nancy Hendrickson is a creative problem solver with more than 15 years of online experience. The author of four books and hundreds of magazine articles, she lends her marketing, teamwork, and writing skills to Vantage Point clients who seek to improve their marketing message. She approaches business or educational challenges from the Vantage Point perspective--one of listening, analyzing, solution crafting, and implementation.

Patti Hunt, Military Marketing Specialist/Student Orientation Coordinator

Patti Hunt is Vantage Point's Military Marketing Specialist, coordinating private Ed Fair and Military Counseling Events for our college clients. With more than ten years experience in higher education, Patti is passionate about advising students on how to best meet their goals. Patti's background includes roles in College Admissions, Academic Advising, Faculty Coordinator, and Online Instructing. During her 1.5 years experience as Program Mentor for GoArmyEd, she experienced the issues faced by military personnel in obtaining a higher education. Today, she leads our Military Marketing Program, marketing client colleges to Education Centers, Education Fairs, while continually building relationships with Education Service Officers, Recruiters, and Education Counselors.

Jennifer Wolverton, Senior Program Mentor

Jennifer Wolverton has been involved in Mentoring and Advising for over ten years in several capacities. As an Independent Living Specialist, she assisted youth with transitioning from foster care to living independently, obtaining employment, and realizing educational goals. As the Director of Online Learning, she resolved help desk cases and assisted students with problem resolutions. In her role as Senior Program Mentor at Vantage Point Consulting, Ms. Wolverton advises students with course choices, helps set long and short-term goals, aids in problem resolution, and assists students with completing their education.

Clara Evans, Program Mentor

Clara Evans has been involved in Mentoring and Advising for over six years in different capacities. She has worked with military personnel as a Program Mentor through the GoArmyEd program, Counsel Support for the eArmyU program, a Test Examiner, Test Proctor, and a Multi- use Learning Facility Assistant. She resolved help desk cases and assisted students with problem resolution, testing preparation, and transcript requests. As a Program Mentor, she proactively helps students with goal-setting, motivation, course choices, and problem resolution on behalf of our client colleges.

Wendelyn Garcia, Program Mentor

Wendy Garcia leads a team program mentors for IBM Business Consulting Services in support of the United States Army’s Continuing Education System’s eArmyU Online Education Program (www.goarmyed.com).  The team provides ongoing, proactive outreach to Soldier-students to improve Soldier retention and success.  Ms. Garcia also assists with development of training materials for Soldiers.  She has over ten years of experience providing innovative retention support to Soldiers and Adult Learners.

Ruth Perez, Program Mentor

Ruth Perez has over 20 years of progressive experience as a college education counselor for the Army Continuing Education System.  Over seven years have been in support of the United States Army’s eArmyU/GoArmyEd program for mobile, Active Duty Soldiers.  Ms. Perez has worked on dozens of innovative, proactive outreach programs designed to improve student retention and satisfaction and is deeply familiar with military culture and committed to student success.

Izora Gales, Program Mentor

Izora Gales has over 10 years experience serving and assisting servicemembers with accessing higher education and with job assistance mentoring.  Ms. Gales also has experience planning and implementing job and education fairs to assist servicemembers with transition to civilian life after serving in the military.  Ms. Gales was part of the launch of the United States Army’s eArmyU/GoArmyEd online learning portal and has continued to support Soldiers for the past seven years with a variety of proactive and innovative outreach and education retention programs.

Marisol Lin, Program Mentor

Marisol Lin has worked in adult education and counseling for over 18 years providing effective leadership in the field.  She has served as a College and Career Counselor, Program Mentor, College Instructor, and Master Trainer.  Marisol has vast experience and expertise in military education as well, having worked with military education and Soldier well-being in Germany  Fort McClellan, Fort Benning, and Fort Hood.  Her leadership, commitment, and experience have made her a tremendous asset in her current role supporting IBM Business Consulting Services and the United States Army Continuing Education System with its GoArmyEd/eArmyU program.

Barbara Moore, Program Mentor

Barbara Moore has worked for over four years a program mentor providing outsourced retention services to adult learners and Soldiers.  She has mentored Soldiers who were behind pace in attaining their academic goals to help them stay motivated and get back on track.  Ms. Moore is also an expert on Veteran services.  She has worked with the Wounded Warrior Call Center in Alexandria, Virginia, to help veterans access educational and rehabilitation resources throughout the country.
